We are seeking
to appoint a proactive and organised individual to join our Grants & Finance team, providing key administrative and financial support across the pre-award and post-award lifecycle of research grants and contracts. The role will provide key support for research grant management within OCDEM, acting as a link between academic staff, university research services, and external funders. The Grants and Finance Assistant help manage day-to-day financial operations, ensures compliance with funder requirements, maintains accurate records, and supports financial reporting and audits. This is a collaborative role within a small, dedicated team, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will report directly to the OCDEM Senior Grants and Programme Manager and collaborate closely with the wider OCDEM Administration Team to support departmental activities. You are required to be educated to A-level standard with GCSE (grade A-C) level English and Maths, or equivalent and have experience of working in a finance administration support role, preferably within a research or academic setting. An ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring effective collaboration and information exchange. This is a full-time appointment on a fixed-term contract for three years, based at OCDEM, Churchill Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7LE. A less experienced candidate may be appointed at Grade 4 (£28,437- £32,108 per annum) with a commensurate adjustment in either the essential criteria, responsibilities or duties.
