Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be responsible for planning, leading, and coordinating the engineering function to support sales and production teams to ensure the timely delivery of complex, design-engineered, bespoke OEM electro-mechanical HV, MV & LV testing equipment & plant, including portable, permanent, and trailerized versions, to the correct cost, quality, and technical specifications. The role involves daily interaction and key communication with internal functions, suppliers, and customers to achieve these goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide knowledge, technical leadership, and professionalism in electrical and mechanical systems development for power test solutions.
2. Manage and coordinate electrical and mechanical teams responsible for build definitions, electrical drawings, performance checks, and sheet metal programs, ensuring timely delivery to meet production needs.
3. Manage the frontend customer support team providing applications, technical support, costing guidance, and BOM management.
4. Ensure accuracy of product build data through a 3C process and proper document control.
5. Manage product enhancements, and oversee engineering changes related to cost, quality, and legislation.
6. Lead and support product field quality investigations.
7. Ensure products are designed for manufacture (DFM) and meet performance targets.
8. Create engineering specifications and schematics to support sales orders, and support FAT and customer audits.
9. Generate test reports and technical documents for customer use.
10. Coordinate and lead specific customer sales projects.
11. Identify opportunities for improvement by staying updated on new technologies.
12. Implement system and process improvements to increase efficiency.
13. Ensure product safety and compliance with standards such as CE, UL, CSA.
14. Promote and embody the company's mission, vision, and values.
About You:
1. Proven OEM electrical machine design experience, especially in HV, MV & LV circuits related to load banks, gensets, transformers, or power transmission systems.
2. Knowledge of low and medium voltage systems.
3. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Masters preferred.
4. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
5. Over 10 years of professional experience in OEM electrical or mechanical domains.
6. Strong understanding of safety protocols, quality control, and manufacturing processes.
7. Experience with safety standards such as UL, CSA, NEC, CE.
8. Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
9. Leadership qualities with energy, adaptability, and decision-making skills.
10. Ability to foster team growth and collaboration.
11. Flexible and creative personality to manage changing responsibilities.
12. Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
13. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
