CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer / CNC Setter Operator required for a leading manufacturing business based near Suffolk
This role involves programming, setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision components from engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances and agreed production timeframes. You’ll play a key part in ensuring components are manufactured accurately and ready for downstream assembly, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and documentation.
The ideal candidate will have proven CNC programming experience (Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain or Mazak), a completed engineering apprenticeship, and the ability to read engineering drawings confidently. You must also be comfortable working with a wide range of materials and managing your own workload within a busy production environment.
CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer / CNC Setter Operator Package
£16 per hour
37-hour week (Mon–Fri)
1.5x overtime regularly available
25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (holidays paid at average earnings)

Program CNC machines using manual data input, software uploads, or database download
Set up and run CNC equipment to produce components in line with engineering drawings
Identify and prepare materials as specified in technical documentation
Machine parts to precise tolerances, meeting required production deadlines
Carry out self-inspection, ensuring accuracy and reporting any deviations immediately
Record daily activities accurately, including timesheets and production information
Collaborate with other departments to manage priorities and meet manufacturing schedules
Follow all quality, health & safety, and manufacturing procedures consistently
Assist with wider shop-floor tasks whenever neededCNC Machinist / CNC Programmer / CNC Setter Operator Requirements
Completed engineering apprenticeship (essential)
Proven CNC programming experience (Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain or Mazak)
Able to read engineering drawings and parts lists confidently
Good understanding of feeds, speeds and machining principles
Experience working with a variety of materials
Strong attention to detail and quality focus
Flexible, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn
