Within our Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) we are looking to recruit a Pesticide Enforcement Officer (PEO).
This is a frontline role where you will need to be able to influence duty-holders, identify material breaches of regulations, act to remedy breaches and check compliance with duties defined in a range of chemicals regulations. You will serve enforcement notices and provide advice and guidance to bring duty-holders back into compliance. You will work closely with other members of the CRD enforcement team and will also be expected to work independently upon demonstration of the required competencies.
1. You will be trained to support HSE’s work with the chemical industries and undertake primarily proactive control visits; there will be a need to acquire an understanding and knowledge of relevant operational procedures.
2. This role will provide you with significant opportunities to develop knowledge of enforcement practice and policy and working collaboratively with a range of internal and external partners and stakeholders.
3. The role of a PEO will continue to evolve and you will need to remain flexible to adapt to new challenges as the Intervention Team grows, including developing new online investigation tools and techniques.
