As a Machine/ Yard Operative you will be responsible for tasks including the loading and unloading of containers and curtain siders, recycling sorting, conducting machine checks, using plant machinery such as a Fork Lift, Loading shovel, or 360 Excavator (as appropriate), and ensuring good site housekeeping.
Responsibilities
* To undertake the operation of mobile plant as directed by the site manager.
* To be able to operate to a good standard a 360 material rehandler tracked and wheeled.
* To be able to operate to a good standard a loading shovel, wheeled front loader.
* To ensure the mobile plant he is operating undergoes an inspection prior to use with any defects or damage reported to the site manager and noted on the daily check sheet.
* To ensure mobile plant is greased, all radiators blown clean of dust, and all oil levels maintained in accordance with company/manufacturers procedures.
* To ensure machine is operated responsibly and only used for the tasks it is designed to carry out.
* To communicate with colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the facility.
* To read, understand, and follow all risk assessments, work procedures, and safe systems of work.
* To ensure mobile plant is washed off at the end of each shift.
* To carry out tasks other than machine operation as requested by management.
Minimum Requirements: NPORS qualifications are essential to operate machines.
