A growing number of primary, secondary, and SEN schools in Tameside are seeking experienced Trauma Informed Practitioners to support pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, and trauma backgrounds. 1 Particular school has the need for an immediate start that will be until July and very likely moving to a permanentl role from September 2026.
These are schools where pastoral support is prioritised, behaviour systems are in place, and staff work collaboratively — meaning you’ll be supported in delivering the consistent, relationship-led approach these pupils need.

About the Role – Trauma Informed Practitioner (Tameside)
As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will:
* Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to pupils
* Use trauma-informed and low-arousal strategies to support regulation
* Build consistent, trusting relationships with vulnerable learners
* Support pupils in accessing learning and managing classroom expectations
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals
* Contribute to behaviour plans, EHCP support, and intervention strategies
You’ll be working with pupils who require structure, consistency, and emotionally intelligent support to engage with education.
