Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dietitian based at University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on a fixed-term / secondment basis until 18th January 2027.

Hours:

37 hours per week.

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

UK Driving Licence:

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What you will do:

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our busy acute adult team based at University Hospital Crosshouse. The team, comprising dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners, work together to provide effective dietetic care to 21 in patient wards, working to national and local targets and drivers. You will have responsibility for the day to day management of your own caseload and will be supported to be a core contributor to the departments shared caseload. By operating a partly shared team caseload we are able to offer excellent opportunities for clinical supervision and shadowing in a wide range of clinical areas. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work towards the completion of Flying Start and dependent on experience, take part in our practice placement programme supporting student practitioners on A,B and C placements.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

You should possess an honours degree/postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Experience in acute dietetics would be an advantage. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential excellent time management, organisational skills, self-motivation and good interpersonal skills.
