The Opportunity: Data Lead
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of Data to lead our data function. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape our data strategy, develop our data infrastructure, and enable teams to make smarter, faster decisions through actionable insights.
You’ll lead the charge in building out robust business intelligence capabilities, mentoring a talented team of analysts and data scientists, and embedding data-driven thinking across the organisation. Your expertise will help solve marketplace challenges, improve customer journeys, and support growth initiatives on both supply and demand sides.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a company-wide data strategy aligned with strategic goals.
* Build and maintain scalable data infrastructure, including data warehousing and ETL pipelines.
* Set and enforce data governance standards, ensuring high data quality and integrity.
* Create and maintain BI dashboards and reporting tools that deliver real business value.
* Collaborate with Growth, Product, and Operations to provide deep analytical insights.
* Lead the design, execution, and analysis of experiments to improve business performance.
* Solve marketplace-specific data challenges involving acquisition, retention, and supply-demand dynamics.
* Mentor and grow a high-performing team of data analysts and scientists.
* Present complex data findings in clear, compelling ways to leadership and stakeholders.
* Evaluate and implement the latest tools and technologies to enhance analytics capabilities.
* Champion a data-first culture across the company.
About You
* Proven experience leading high-performing data teams, with a focus on mentorship and development.
* Deep knowledge of BI tools, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
* Advanced proficiency in SQL; knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages is a plus.
* Solid foundation in statistical analysis and experimental design.
* Strong product and business sense — able to link data to business impact.
* Track record of managing complex, cross-functional data initiatives.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Self-starter with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
* Experience in startups or high-growth environments preferred.
* Bonus: familiarity with the dynamics of a two-sided marketplace.
