Summary
We're looking for a Welcome & Service Team Member to join our Welcome Team at Clumber Park. As the first friendly face our visitors meet, you’ll offer a warm welcome, share helpful information, answer questions and help ensure everyone enjoys a memorable visit. You’ll be part of a lively, supportive team that’s passionate about creating great experiences and delivering outstanding service.
Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 780 hours per year, and on average, you'll work 15 hours per week.
Weekend, bank holiday and school holiday work will be required, with team members typically working around half of all weekend days and most bank holidays.
Salary: £13.25 per hour

What it's like to work here
Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you'll work as part of the wider Welcome team of around 30. Working within a positive team, we supportive each other in terms of wellbeing and progression. We want you to learn, discover and develop your career, and we’ll do everything we can to offer you the training and support that you need to achieve your goals. We’ll work with you to plan your development in a way that’s right for your needs.
You’ll be predominantly based at Clumber Park, the National Trust’s busiest pay for entry site, welcoming more than 650,000 visitors each year. There may also be occasional opportunities to work at Mr Straw’s House in Worksop, a unique time capsule home preserved exactly as the family left it.
What you'll be doing
This role would suit anyone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to delivering great visitor service. Most days, you’ll be based at our Welcome Point, greeting visitors, scanning membership cards, taking admission payments and helping people make the most of their day by highlighting activities, events and seasonal offers. You’ll also support the smooth running of the site by welcoming contractors, volunteers and staff.
You’ll encourage and process National Trust membership applications and highlight other ways visitors can support our work, such as buying second hand books, picking up produce from the Walled Kitchen Garden or adding to their pin badge collection.
Some days, you’ll be at the Information Point, answering questions, arranging mobility scooter bookings and helping visitors with membership queries. On others, you’ll take on ‘Rover’ duties – a mobile engagement role where you’ll chat to visitors parked in wider parkland areas, share conservation messages and update them on parking and access changes. You’ll also provide welfare cover for colleagues at remote Welcome Points, supporting breaks and stepping in during busy periods. From time to time, you’ll assist with events or help in the car park.
