Over the coming decade, artificial intelligence will have a transformational impact on the natural sciences. Our AI for Science team encompasses world-leading experts in machine learning, computational chemistry, material science, quantum physics, molecular biology, software engineering, and other disciplines, who are working together to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in this field.
We are seeking an intern to contribute to a program of research at the intersection of large language models and science. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive ambitious research within a highly collaborative, diverse team, leveraging cutting-edge AI techniques to drive real-world impact.
Intern Duration: 12 Weeks
Locations: Cambridge, UK
Responsibilities
* Contribute to a highly ambitious research agenda within a collaborative team, including machine learning, chemistry, and engineering experts
* Work with Scientific Data for LLMs experiments
* Run Large scale pretraining/Fine-tuning language models experiments
* Analyze experimental results and evaluation metrics, and conduct case studies to showcase model's capabilities
* Prepare technical papers, presentations, and open-source releases of research code
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in relevant PhD program
* Strong research experience at the intersection of AI and Chemistry
* Proficiency in writing python code
* Strong collaborative spirit and an open mind for technical discussions
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
* Familiarity with popular LLM libraries
* Experience with collaborative code development using GitHub or similar platforms
* Prior graduate degree in Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
