Are you passionate about geotechnical engineering and laboratory testing? We're on the lookout for a Geotechnical Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between technical innovation and practical application. This pivotal role focuses on supporting our cutting-edge geotechnical testing equipment through expert product knowledge, hands-on demonstrations, and customer collaboration.
You'll work alongside Sales, Marketing, and R&D to ensure our products meet the evolving needs of labs and field professionals alike, shaping the future of geotechnical testing from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, manuals, datasheets, and blog posts
* Support Sales with technical input on complex proposals and product demonstrations
* Act as a technical ambassador at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events
* Respond to customer enquiries with practical, solution-focused advice
* Train and support customers on-site in the UK and internationally, including product installations and troubleshooting
* Gather customer feedback to help define product features and testing specifications
* Test software, firmware, and hardware for seamless integration and performance
* Collaborate closely with R&D to refine testing protocols and procedures
* Identify market opportunities and areas for technical growth
Requirements
* BSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Material Science, or a related field (MSc preferred)
* At least 3 years' experience in geotechnical product support, technical service, or lab-based roles
* Familiarity with geotechnical laboratory testing methods and equipment
* Comfortable working with Windows operating systems and troubleshooting software installations
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Experience working across departments, especially R&D and Sales
* Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to new technologies
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
