Flagship Profit Protection - Security Officer
Role Description – Flagship Profit Protection. Purpose: To maximise profitability in the business by protecting all company assets which includes personnel, buildings, stock, and costs. To focus on failing areas of loss and compliance to ensure the stores KPI’s are being met. To ensure all core department values are upheld by all personnel within the stores.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a highly visible role in the designated stores.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local criminal offenders and attend local crime briefings and partnership meetings to gather and share intelligence.
* Be vigilant on the shop floor, observe instances of theft or suspected theft, and challenge/process shoplifters in line with company procedures.
* Operate and maintain knowledge of CCTV systems; report incidents on the company’s incident reporting platform.
* Raise and follow up on security-related maintenance needs in store; maintain the CCTV/security control room in a sterile state compliant with GDPR.
* Lead incident management in stores and provide data/analysis on shrinkage to profit protection and retail management.
* Supervise, train, and mentor external security guarding platform; liaise with third-party guarding management.
* Manage guarding schedules and maintain accurate timekeeping logs.
* Review and amend access control functions on the Paxton system to protect assets and staff safety.
* Conduct security/operational/compliance checklists and provide feedback to managers linking compliance to loss reduction.
* Support and train managers and store personnel on profit protection and operational issues; provide guidance as necessary.
* Identify compliance and operational failures in store and retrain staff as needed.
* Attend and help manage launch events, completing required risk assessments; conduct risk assessments for VIP events.
* Report daily to store management on profit protection issues; ensure protection of company property (buildings and stock) and recommend improvements.
* Maintain knowledge of related criminal law and HR guidelines to ensure accuracy in role; ensure store compliance with company procedures and provide feedback where necessary.
* Attend courts or tribunals as required and prepare statements/reports; install/assist with covert/overt CCTV systems if required.
* Provide presence for security at events and liaise with outside investigation agencies including the police as necessary.
* Prioritise workload to complete reports, investigations, and projects within deadlines; maintain discretion and confidentiality in all duties.
* Complete any other ad hoc tasks as directed by Territory/Area Profit Protection Managers.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience in security or loss prevention and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment is preferred.
* Ability to operate CCTV systems and incident reporting platforms; experience with access control systems is desirable.
* Strong communication, training, and leadership skills for supervising staff and contractors.
* Willingness to attend risk assessments, court events as required, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
