Job Purpose: I am a friendly gentleman with Parkinson's who is seeking a Personal Assistant to support me with everyday living tasks such as personal care, domestic care, meal preparation, transfers and assisting me to access the community. Due to my Parkinson's I am prone to falls; the assistant will guide me through steps and ensure medication is taken at the right time, while keeping a daily diary of tasks completed.
Location: Downham Market
Details: This Position is for either one or two personal assistants, depending on candidates availability. The advert will be updated accordingly.
Responsibilities
* General household cleaning
* Food preparation: cook evening meal, prepare light lunch
* Personal care
* To assist with dressing
* To assist with transfers
* Support to access the community
* Ensure medication is taken at the right time
* Keep a diary of tasks completed daily

Essential:

Desirable:
* Previous experience of working in a care role
* Previous experience of working with someone with a neurological disorder
* Willing to take up training as required
Summary terms and conditions
* The rate of pay for this position is £13.46 per hour
* Mileage: 45p per mile
* Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers
* If the role includes any of the following: manual Handling, handling of hazardous chemicals or food handling, you will be required to undertake annual training
* Hours and days of work: 24 hours over 3 days, plus every other weekend at 10 hours. Total hours available 34 hours. Hours can be flexible/negotiable.
* Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position.
* The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
The post is subject to the following:
* A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer
* Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer
* Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
