Your new role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architectural Technologist to join the technical team based out of a Midlands office. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple residential projects, taking responsibility for the coordination and production of detailed technical and construction information throughout the project lifecycle.This is a technically focused role offering exposure to a high volume of live residential schemes and close collaboration with internal departments and external consultants.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Producing and managing accurate, detailed construction and working drawings
2. Coordinating all technical superstructure information across multiple residential projects
3. Liaising with internal departments, consultants, contractors and statutory bodies
4. Ensuringpliance with Building Regulations, NHBC and relevant standards
5. Supporting Principal Designer duties in line with CDM 2015
6. Managing consultant appointments, technical fee proposals and technical approvals
7. Undertaking value engineering exercises and ensuring buildability
8. Submitting information for Building Control, NHBC, SAP, EPC and Robust Details
9. Attending site to resolve technical and reconstructional issues
10. Chairing and attending pre‑start and progress meetings
11. Coaching and supporting junior team members where required
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
12. A background as an Architectural Technologist
13. A BTEC HND/HNC in Design, Construction or a related discipline
14. Significant experience within a technical role for a residential house builder or consultancy
15. Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction methods and residential detailing
16. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, along with good general IT literacy
17. Experience delivering projects to programme, budget and quality standards
18. Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
19. Strongmunication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
20. The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Desirable:
21. MCIAT, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification
22. CSCS card
23. Experience using Viewpoint drawing management systems
24. Experience managing technical fees and cost‑toplete
