We have several opportunities for Project Managers to join our Chief Operating Office, initially focussed on a major transformation programme.
Our Chief Operating Office (COO) works across Royal London to help deliver the Group’s strategic ambitions. We work in partnership to deliver operational excellence, drive innovation, enhance customer experience, and protect our business from threats impacting our industry.
COO is the largest business unit within Royal London, bringing together thousands of colleagues to look after millions of customers to deliver great outcomes for customers. Our business focuses on aligning colleagues, applications and projects with our three value streams: Long Term Savings, Protection & Equity Release, and Long-Standing Customers & Annuities, led by our Chief Information Officers, our Shared Service Platforms and Enabling Teams. This roles sit within Long-Standing Customers & Annuities.
About the role
We are delivering a major, multi‑year transformation that will transition outsourced administration and servicing back into Royal London, bringing critical operations, data, people, and technology in‑house. The programme will deliver the transfer of colleagues and operational capability, the migration of policies to our Royal London strategic target platforms, and the transition of other platforms, supporting technologies including telephony, workflow and CRM solutions. We’re looking for candidates with proven experience in large‑scale transitions or complex change environments—candidates who can navigate operational, technical and people‑centric change to ensure a smooth, well‑governed and high‑quality transition.
As a Project Manager you will:
* Apply best project management practice to ensure outcomes are delivered to time, cost and quality objectives
* Provide leadership to the delivery team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
* Define and agree required level of project resource needed for successful project delivery
* Manage risks and issues, understanding a wider risk context associated with the business and the delivery
* Build a collaborative relationship with 3rd parties to manage delivery, costs and maximise value
* Implement appropriate level of Governance in-line with Group methods
* Cost control on the project and understanding the impact this has on Group-wide financial performance and value to the customer
About you
Experience of working in projects within financial services, with:
* The ability to solve and unblock issues within teams or departments
* An adaptable approach to communicating across all levels in Royal London
* The skills to build consensus between organisations or highly independent and diverse stakeholders
* Proactivity and future thinking around the management and control of project costs and benefits
* Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
* Experience of leading project teams, building and maintaining the trust, confidence, commitment and collaboration of others
* Experience of working on integration programme or project, or platform migrations is highly desirable.
