Role Overview
We are currently recruiting Quantity Surveyors to join our team based in Cardiff. The successful candidates will have previous experience using NHF and NSR, along with a strong understanding of construction processes and cost control.
These roles also require a solid understanding of construction processes and effective communication abilities.
One position will involve working across Cardiff and Bristol, while another will require travel between Cardiff and Pembrokeshire.
Responsibilities
Overall purpose of the role is to develop and manage contract budgets and forecasts to ensure the financial control and profitability of allocated contracts
Promote, follow, and influence good Project governance through the policies and procedures
To develop, manage and extend commercial relationships with both new and existing clients
Maintaining good relationships with all housing clients
Attending and leading meetings with the client and sub-contractor
Regular reporting on sub-contractor performance
Developing and administering sub-contractor processes in line with SOP
Managing sub-contractor and client valuation accounts to support good project governance, assurance, and finance drivers
To assist the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager with pre-start planning
Project Execution Plans, and contract engagement strategy
To manage the day-to-day cost control supported by other teams and business solutions
Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification, and pricing
Assist the Contract Manager with subcontractor selection, procurement scheduling and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order, competency, and information to carry out their work
Liaise with the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager over contractual issues and act as required, Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release, and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner
Process subcontractor requests for payment in line with SOP's
Completing and maintaining cost and value budget plans and reports for the designation projects
Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases
Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation or variation to contract
Periodically carrying out valuations of works undertaken using SORS
Preparing monthly cost/value comparisons for submission
Developing and managing contract budgets and forecasts
Maximising cash-flow and evaluating quotations and estimates
Preparing monthly valuation and final account submissions for clients
Authorising and agreeing payment of sub-contractors
Providing timely and accurate financial information reports as required
You Will Need
HND/ HNC Level, in a relevant construction acknowledged course
Previous experience within social housing
Excellent construction technology knowledge
Previous experience working with NHF and NSR
Good working knowledge of forms of contact currently used within the building trade
Financial reporting
