Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer
6-Month Contract
£50-60 per hour (Inside IR35)
Gateshead (Hybrid - 3 days on-site per week)
A leading defence organisation in Gateshead is looking for an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer to take ownership of ILS delivery across major Naval programmes. This role sits at the heart of long-term system supportability, ensuring all customer and contractual requirements are met while shaping effective through-life support strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage ILS activities across high-profile Naval projects.
Ensure full compliance with customer, contractual and industry standards.
Collaborate closely with engineering, project and customer teams to deliver robust through-life support solutions.
Oversee technical publications, codification, spares modelling and reliability analysis.
Act as a subject matter expert on ILS processes, standards and toolsets.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of systems engineering, product development and through-life support lifecycles.
In-depth knowledge of ILS standards such as Def Stan 00-600, ASD S3000L, JSP 886, Def Con 117, and familiarity with defence customer environments.
Hands-on experience with technical publications, particularly ASD S1000D .
Knowledge of NATO Codification and Spares Modelling .
Experience using reliability modelling tools such as ReliaSoft XFMEA, BlockSim, or equivalent.
