RSD Recruitment are working with a respected business in the material handling industry to find a Branch Manager for one of their depots. This role is all about steady leadership, taking responsibility, and making sure your site runs safely, smoothly and efficiently.

As Branch Manager, youll be trusted to guide your team, keep compliance in order, and create a workplace where people can do their best work. Its a role that suits someone calm, organised and people-focused

What youll be doing
Supporting, coaching and motivating your team of technicians and staff
Owning depot safety: weekly checks, compliance, colleague training, and clear standards
Keeping the branch compliant
annual inspections, risk assessments, PAT testing, equipment checks
Managing performance fairly and consistently
Planning and allocating resources: staff, equipment, scheduling and stock availability
Making sure operational processes are followed and improved where needed
Completing and passing audits, PDI checks and other standards
Supporting the regional manager with wider responsibilities where required
Building professional, steady relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers
What were looking for
Experience as a branch / depot / service manager or in a similar leadership role
Ideally, knowledge of forklifts, plant hire, or mechanical handling (though related industries considered)
A thoughtful leader
approachable, consistent, and able to bring out the best in others
Organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing compliance and process
Calm under pressure, with a practical problem-solving approach
Good IT skills (Protean experience would be an advantage, but not essential)
