Role Overview
As our Transport Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our transport operations remain fully compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies. You will play a vital role in monitoring driver performance, managing vehicle compliance, and promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
* Compliance & Legislation
* Ensure the business operates in full compliance with DVSA, Operator Licence undertakings, and all transport regulations.
* Keep up to date with industry legislation and implement changes as required.
* Driver & Fleet Management
* Manage driver infringements (tacho analysis, working time, rest periods), issuing feedback and corrective action.
* Conduct regular driver debriefs, toolbox talks, and training where required.
* Monitor driver CPC requirements and maintain training records.
* Vehicle & Maintenance Control
* Book, manage, and monitor vehicle services, MOTs, safety inspections, and defect repairs.
* Liaise with workshops, suppliers, and contractors to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standard.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all vehicle and trailer compliance documentation.
* Auditing & Reporting
* Carry out internal audits of driver files, vehicle files, and compliance systems.
* Investigate incidents, infringements, and non-conformances, implementing corrective measures.
* Prepare compliance reports for senior management and external authorities when required.
* Systems & Administration
* Oversee digital tachograph downloads, analysis, and reporting.
* Manage transport management systems, ensuring accuracy of records and reporting.
* Support the Transport Manager/Directors in ensuring efficient and safe operations.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a transport compliance or management role (ideally within logistics or haulage).
* Strong knowledge of transport legislation, Driver Hours, Working Time Directive, and Operator Licence undertakings.
* Experience in managing vehicle maintenance schedules and compliance audits.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage and train drivers.
* Proficient in compliance/transport software (e.g., Tachomaster, TruTac, or similar).
* CPC in Road Haulage (International or National) – essential.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
