Senior / Civil Design Engineer
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum dependant on level of experience plus competitive benefits package
Location: Greater Manchester or St Helens with hybrid working available.
A well-established Rail Consultancy who offer design solutions on infrastructure projects across the UK is looking to take on a Senior Civil Engineer to join their business in the North West of England.
This is a critical role to assist in delivering exciting and varied civil engineering projects, alongside a team of highly skilled Civil Engineers.
Summary
As a Senior Civil Engineer in the Engineering Services business, you will play a critical role in delivering exciting and varied civil engineering rail projects alongside a team of likeminded and highly skilled Civil Engineers. You will champion excellence within the discipline, provide guidance and support to our junior engineers, and have unparalleled opportunities for career development in a fast-growing consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare outline and detailed design for a wide array of civil engineering projects
* Follow check and approve procedures throughout project delivery
* Undertake the duties of designer as highlighted in CDM/CSM legislation
* Engage with clients and support successful project delivery
* Contribute to company goals and business improvement
* Continue your own professional development
* Support junior staff development
Required Experience:
* Circa 4/5 years experience
* Ideally CEng or IEng qualified with a professional body i.e. ICE, IStructE
* Demonstratable experience in a Civil Engineering role, ideally acting as CRE, CRE under mentorship
* Experience of civil engineering design and in the railway industry, including an understanding of Network Rail standards
* A Civil Engineering degree (MEng preferred but not critical)
* Knowledge of civil design and construction principles and standards
* Eurocode experience
* Experience in delivering to safety standards and CDM/CSM requirements
* Experience of commercial awareness including programming and delivery to budgets/timescales
* Proficient in the use of computer analysis programs e.g. TEDDS and Supersuite.
* Knowledge of producing drawings by using 2D/3D Microstation
