Embrace Excellence
The purpose of this role is to schedule and coordinate Macallan Maturation and Cooperage operations plus cask movements in and out of other Edrington operational sites and third-party cooperage subcontractors.

The operations planner co-ordinates logistics directly through freight and haulage partners where appropriate and work closely with the Macallan Stock Planning team, maturation operations, wider cask supply team (including Spanish operations), group logistics, distillery sites and strategic planning roles.

The role holder ensures efficient operations scheduling on the Macallan Estate and efficient movement of casks and spirit between sites.

Make an Impact

* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality service, lead planning meetings, and ensure all contractor, maintenance, and operational activities are coordinated without disrupting maturation or cooperage work.
* Interpret and integrate plans from multiple stakeholders, schedule cooperage and maturation workloads, and manage cask and tanker dispatches/receipts, including imports from Spain, while minimising delays and demurrage costs.
* Work with site and group planners to optimise storage space, plan consolidation and bonding activities, allocate refill casks for filling, and secure sources of fillable casks while understanding capacity constraints.
* Coordinate with customers, group sites, and commercial cooperages to ensure timely cask supply, organise subcontract repair work, and arrange export certification for wood shipped overseas.
* Track and report progress against annual plans (e.g., Sherry cask receipts), support system and planning tool development (including cask tracking), drive improvements, and manage the sale and dispatch of excess cask inventory.

Your Talent And Skills

Detail‑oriented and accurate in record‑keeping and data entry, you are self‑motivated, take ownership of your work, and hold a clean driving licence.

We've put together some criteria that we think is important for this role, but don't worry if your experience and expertise isn't an exact match. If you feel that you can add value to our role and to Edrington more broadly, we would welcome your application and be eager to learn more about you.
