Job Opportunity: Mechanical Technician
HMH, a leading provider of drilling solutions with a global presence across 16 countries, is expanding its Workshop team in Aberdeenshire. We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Technician to perform repairs, overhauls, and assembly on various drilling equipment, especially with experience in subsea pressure control equipment.
Responsibilities
1. Perform disassembly and assembly of surface and subsea well control equipment
2. Contribute to risk assessments and toolbox talks
3. Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) to company standards
4. Ensure accurate and timely completion of timesheets and inspection reports
5. Operate forklifts, overhead gantry cranes, and vertical lift platforms (training provided)
6. Perform QC checks at Goods In points as required
7. Maintain safety standards and report unsafe practices
8. Suggest improvements to working practices and product lines
9. Adhere to waste management policies and procedures
Candidate Requirements
* NVQ Level 3/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
* Good knowledge of fluid power systems
* Experience in high pressure testing (oil and water mediums)
* Knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to read schematics and layouts
* Understanding of API 16a and/or API STD53 standards
* Experience with subsea well control equipment is advantageous
* Effective communication skills in English
