Overview
This fixed‑term post offers a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist to join an existing multidisciplinary team delivering services to children and young people in community settings.
Responsibilities
* Deliver assessment and evidence‑based treatments for babies, children and young people with neurological and neuromuscular conditions, including movement impairment, global developmental delay, and physical or learning disabilities; work within Special Schools.
* Collaborate with health, education, social care and other partnership agencies to provide seamless, coordinated care and disseminate knowledge.
* Contribute to differential diagnoses for children on your caseload.
* Assess and instruct patients, families and carers in the use of special equipment and orthoses, and jointly agree outcome measures.
* Set therapeutic goals in collaboration with child, parents and carers.
* Demonstrate competency to practice autonomously within Children’s Community Therapy Service protocols and guidelines, with regular performance reviews.
* Manage caseload, participate in regular caseload reviews.
* Prepare Education and Health Care Plan submissions and statements for medico‑legal and safeguarding purposes.
* Delegate and supervise junior staff and students; participate in service development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experienced Physiotherapist with effective communication skills, flexibility, enthusiastic approach to learning and service delivery.
* Experience working with children.
* Under senior guidance, competence in autonomous practice within Children’s Community Therapy Service protocols and guidelines, with regular performance reviews.
* Effective caseload management and regular reviews.
* Knowledge of multi‑agency collaboration, holistic care and safeguarding.
