The role
As an Information Assurance Specialist,you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our mission to deliver secure, resilient and trusted systems across defence and aerospace. You’ll work on a diverse range of projects, each varying in complexity and criticality, supporting the design, integration and assurance of cutting-edge Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems.
Day-to-day, you’ll be
1. Providing high-quality Information Assurance advice and guidance to Systems Engineering and Design teams.
2. Producing bid proposals and project Information Assurance deliverables.
3. Managing system security accreditation processes and supporting Secure by Design initiatives.
4. Conducting technical risk assessments using recognised frameworks.
5. Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Babcock and external partners including the Ministry of Defence.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 37 hours per week. The role is hybrid, with on-site presence required depending on business needs, based at one of our key locations at either Oakhanger (Hampshire), Ashton Vale (Bristol), or Stoke Gifford (Bristol).
Essential experience of the Information Assurance Specialist:
6. Authoritative knowledge of standards such as ISO/IEC series and NIST SP -37.
7. Provided customer-facing Information Assurance consultancy.
8. Delivered both tactical and strategic solutions focused on customer requirements.
9. Created and maintained accurate security documentation.
10. Applied technical risk assessment methodologies including NIST SP -30 and ISO/IEC .
Qualifications for the Information Assurance Specialist:
11. A relevant higher education qualification or industry certification.
