The post holder will be responsible for data collection, validation, and submission of quality data for participation in the Case Mix Programme, Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre, London (ICNARC) (national comparative audit programme).
The post holder will also be responsible for data collection, validation, and submission of quality data to the Critical Care Minimum Dataset (CCMDS) Department of Health (DOH).
The Data Clerk officer plays a vital role within the Critical Care Department, facilitating the delivery of quality care and improved patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensure the provision of quality and robust clinical audit/data collection in line with Trust policies and procedures.
2. Maintain and organize data systems and audit trails for the Critical Care department to ensure accurate recording of patient pathway data and hospital episodes.
3. Analyze patient records to code and collate complex clinical data, interpreting information for database configuration, following critical care data collection guidelines.
4. Participate in national and local research programmes by collecting and submitting accurate data.
5. Plan and manage own time to ensure timely and accurate processing of critical care data, meeting deadlines.
6. Collect, validate, and submit CCMDS data for payment by results, using established reporting methods.
7. Collect and submit quarterly ICNARC case mix programme data.
8. Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and accurate data collection.
9. Liaise with professional teams to promote efficient data collection and stay updated on developments.
10. Establish good relationships with ICNARC, promoting efficient data production and awareness of key developments.
11. Work as an effective team member and communicate across disciplines.
12. Work independently and collaboratively with clinical teams.
13. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to Trust guidelines.
14. Attend relevant training to maintain skills and support personal development.
