GPS Recruitment have a new position with a leader in the lighting industry supplying bespoke system solutions across a range of sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, and heritage sites\nWe are looking to speak with an Experienced Electrical Technician to provide expert guidance to Production in the form of wiring diagrams and demonstration. This role is in place as the point of reference for Best Practice in wiring and testing across the business.\nFull training will be on hand regarding company software systems and other aspects of the business.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProduct Design: Recommend electronic components that deliver the required functionality for new products, specials, and range-refresh. This, by calculation of loading and deep knowledge of suppliers’ product ranges.
Hands-on aspects include building prototypes.\nLarge Project Design: Calculate the loading of bespoke systems of luminaires to fulfil the customer’s brief. As well as luminaires this frequently includes controls. The main deliverable is specification of the components needed and communication of the design.\nManufacturing: Provide expert guidance to Production in the form of demonstration and wiring diagrams.
This role is the point of reference for Best Practice in wiring and testing.\nQuality Control: Weekly random inspection of finished products made by Production. This includes feedback of any errors found and monthly reporting.\nAftersales: Support internal and external stakeholders with technical advice. Determine whether responsibility for a fault lies inside or outside the organisation.\nAdministration: Maintain BOMs in our ERP system in regard to the above design responsibilities.
This role is also responsible for archiving test results of all fittings made.\nEssential capabilities:\nMinimum 3 years’ experience in electrical manufacturing / Electrical or Electronic Engineering environment.\nHaving the following credentials is advantageous however not essential:\n * AutoCAD or similar\n * Electronics as a hobby\n * Electrical/Electronic Engineering HND/degree\n * Knowledge of 18th Edition regulations\nPlease attach a full and up to date CV with contact details, one of our team will be in touch to discuss the role and package in more detail
