To be aware of the service users' needs and preferences.
* To coordinate an appropriate activities schedule that helps to meet the daily needs of residents and in doing so contributes to an enhanced experience and quality of life for each resident.
* To ensure that every service user is offered and enjoys regular attention. And to promote regular participation in organised activities.
* To ensure the required standards for each activity are met.
* To evaluate the impact and participation for activities and make enhancements to coordinated activities accordingly.
To organise and schedule activities and promote the service users' awareness of daily activities.
* To arrange and book regular outings and in-house entertainment throughout the year.
* To be aware of the activities budget before ordering stock or booking outings and entertainment. To plan annual events in accordance with the activities budget.
* To ensure that management has been consulted with regards to costs required to plan and deliver activities. To ensure authorisation is received first particularly where greater costs are likely to be incurred.
* To complete a daily activities sheet recording levels of participation, including reasons for non-participation.
* To record any comments, suggestions and complaints regarding activities received from service users.
* To be aware of and respond to current best practice and new ideas with regards to activities that are effective in raising the quality of life for residents.
* To meet monthly with Management to discuss participation levels and feedback/issues received from service users. To determine appropriate changes to coordinated activities with the aim of increasing participation and increasing service user satisfaction.
To undertake such other duties as appropriate to the role of Activities Coordinator on the request of Senior Carers and Management.
* To be available to work extra hours e.g. evenings and weekends to support special events and fundraisers.

Experience of Coordinating Activities in a Caring environment.
* Genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
