The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for maintaining and fixing equipment, appliances, electrical systems, and implementing preventative maintenance on machinery. The goal of the Maintenance Team Lead is to operate safely while ensuring the plant is geared towards maximum production and efficiency. The Team Lead position is responsible for championing all safety regulations and wearing proper PPE while completing all repairs/checks.
Essential Functions
* Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
* Analyze, troubleshoot, and make necessary repairs on machinery during mechanical or electrical breakdown situations in a timely manner.
* Work with management to schedule and/or perform any preventative or regular maintenance.
* Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
* Complete maintenance reports time and submit findings to supervisor.
* Test equipment to verify proper working order.
* Respond quickly to safety issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
* Assist in the organization, management and upkeep of shop and parts inventory.
* Perform basic, simple (as needed) repairs on forklifts to maintain production levels.
* Assist production in whatever the needed capacity (within trained knowledge) to ensure that quality and productivity standards and goals are met.
* Participate in projects and other duties assigned
* Knowledgeable back up Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
* May assist in performance reviews, discipline, hiring, and time sheet approvals.
* Participate in recommending ideas of process, quality, product, or work condition improvements.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma/GED with Associate’s degree preferred.
* 5-7 years of manufacturing maintenance technician w/ leadership experience preferred.
* Must have sound knowledge and experience in Industrial Maintenance environment with repair and troubleshooting machine issues and breakdowns along with general maintenance.
* Must have experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
* Must have a good working knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, pumps, valves, cylinders, conveyors, etc.
