Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Food Production (Onsite)
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (some flexibility for overtime as and when required).
Our client is a family-run food production business with a fabulous reputation and incredible team. Since 2000, the company has expanded from one site to four, supplying premium bacon, gammon joints, and hams to high-end retailers, food establishments, and individual customers nationwide with next-day delivery.
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team. You will play a key role in ensuring our production equipment runs efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults across production machinery and systems.
* Perform reactive and planned maintenance to reduce downtime.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
* Support the development and execution of preventative maintenance schedules.
* Collaborate with the team and coordinate with external contractors.
* Install and test new components and systems.
* Respond to emergency breakdowns and unplanned repairs.
* Conduct annual servicing and inspections.
* Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
* Supervise contractors when required.
* Ensure compliance with hygiene standards and HACCP protocols.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
* Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Comfortable working in cold environments with appropriate PPE.
