The Role
Coastal Dental Care is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our friendly and collaborative Finance team at our Head Office in Southport. This part-time opportunity is available now following an internal promotion within the team, reflecting our commitment to developing and progressing our people.
In this role, you will support the Finance team with the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and data. You will gain exposure to a variety of finance activities that support our network of practices and work closely with colleagues across the team to keep things running smoothly.
The position is part-time, ideally 3 days per week, with Monday being a required working day. There is flexibility around the other days to suit the successful candidate and the needs of the team.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in finance, with some experience in accounts being desirable. We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and eager to learn in a supportive, team-focused environment where collaboration and professional growth are encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
* Process accounts payable across multiple business units
* Keep supplier statements and reconciliations accurate and up to date
* Manage credit card and bank reconciliations efficiently
* Import and maintain sales data in Xero
* Be the go-to person for finance and accounts queries
* Tackle ad hoc accounting tasks and support the team as needed
* Contribute ideas to improve systems and processes
About You
You are a detail-focused finance professional with strong technical skills and practical commercial awareness. You take pride in managing day-to-day accounting tasks accurately while understanding how your work contributes to the bigger picture. You’re collaborative, proactive, and enjoy supporting a friendly team environment that values learning and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a similar accounting or finance role
* Proficiency with Xero or similar accounting systems
* Experience in a multi-site environment is ideal but not essential
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive approach and willingness to suggest process improvements
* Must have the right to work in Australia
