Job Title: Residential Support Worker
Reports To: Team Leaders, Deputy Managers, Registered Managers
Location: Children's Residential Care Homes, Leyland
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week average) - shifts include days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins, and lone working.
Salary: £13.00-£14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Purpose
Provide daily care for children/young people in a supportive, homely, and professional environment.
Comply with government guidance, Ofsted regulations, local authority guidance, and internal policies to achieve positive outcomes for children.

Principal Responsibilities
Inclusive Care: Provide care in a professional, homely, and inclusive environment that respects race, spirituality, gender, disability, and sexual orientation.
Relationship Building: Establish positive relationships with children, assess needs, and contribute to individual care plans.
Child Development: Work with children individually and in groups to enhance relationships, self-confidence, social skills, behavior management, and life skills.
Activity Participation: Organize and take part in activities for children/young people.
Environment Management: Maintain a welcoming and stimulating environment, including cleaning, gardening, and domestic duties.
Reporting: Adhere to recording/reporting procedures and produce timely, professional reports.
Communication: Effectively liaise with other agencies and professionals.
Financial Duties: Manage petty cash and other purchasing duties in accordance with policy.
Corporate Parenting: Provide guidance and support while maintaining professional boundaries.
Key Work Sessions: Work with children's key workers to ensure timely sessions.
Home Operations: Complete shift duties, including log book entries, records, weekly planners, fire safety, and health checks.
General Duties: Household chores, light gardening, weekly food shopping.
Shift Management: Manage shifts when required.
Liaison: Communicate with families, schools, agencies, and the community.
Legal/Child Protection: Attend court proceedings, child protection conferences, and provide reports as needed.
Safeguarding: Act immediately on any safeguarding concerns.
Professional Development: Work on designated projects and stay updated in the field.
Cover Duties: Provide support in other care homes as needed.
