Role overview: The Application and Data Support Analyst works within Parmenion’s IT department triaging and managing support requests from a variety of internal and external sources. You will be responsible for managing the support queue, liaising where necessary with business users, product owners, business analysts, developers and other support analysts to ensure that requests are dealt with correctly and in a timely manner. You’ll be a key technical member of the team, building a high level of detailed technical understanding of the application and database, and responsible for diagnosing application and database data issues. Duties and Key Accountabilities: Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify software defects or issues reported by users or detected through monitoring systems. Collaborate with end-users to understand the nature of reported problems and provide timely solutions. Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse data from various sources to spot trends, identify potential issues, and help improve the software's performance and stability. Create reports and dashboards to show key data metrics to different teams. Respond to company and client queries to provide MI to help make decisions for the business Accessing production databases to assist with running ad-hoc queries and data fixes Creating and running ad-hoc data reports for technical and business teams to help with decision-making. Using your knowledge of SQL to analyse data trends and performance metrics, not just for fixing issues. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to software configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and resolutions and data queries Contribution to knowledge base to facilitate repeatability of service Documentation of processes and procedures Incident Management: Respond to and manage incidents related to software applications promptly and effectively. Accessing production systems to assist with incident management, debugging and configuration Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and specifications for new features or changes. Provide technical expertise and support during the requirements gathering phase. Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and quality assurance activities to ensure software changes and updates meet established standards. Collaborate with testing teams to identify and address any issues during the testing phase. Compliance and Security: Ensure that software applications comply with relevant regulatory and security standards in the financial industry. Implement security measures and protocols to safeguard sensitive financial data. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in software development. Attend training sessions and pursue certifications to enhance skills and knowledge. Requirements for the role: Industry/technical knowledge and experience Proven experience of working in a customer or technical support role Experience in using SQL to query and update data in a production context Experience of using support software An interest in building a broad range of experience in the Parmenion product range Proven experience using SQL to query, update, and analyse data in a production environment. Strong skills in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to turn complex data into simple insights. Maintaining relevant knowledge and awareness Knowledge of financial services and platforms is desirable.
