We’re implementing a new cyber security function as part of Agile digital delivery within our growing team, and the pace and scale of change within the Directorate is unprecedented**.****Job Summary**Crown Commercial Service has an exciting opportunity for a Management Information Analyst to join the Data and Insights team. This role will provide a pivotal service in data modelling by providing a clear and comprehensive service to commercial colleagues with reference to their data collection ambitions.Working in adherence to our master data model, this role ensures that our data collection from Suppliers provides insight to all our stakeholders, which is essential for making informed strategic decisions. **Directorate Overview**The Data & Insights team is focussed on enabling decisions across CCS to be based on robust data solutions. As a directorate, we provide reporting and insight support across all areas of CCS, including: * Supplier research* Framework analysis* Internal performance reportingWe are continuing to enhance our performance analytics capabilities and are looking for ways to gain a deeper understanding of how our users interact with CCS. We are also expanding our data science strengths and exploring new ways to apply emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning.We provide analytics across all of the customer and supplier markets where CCS operates, including survey and research support for our commercial and customer engagement colleagues. Our team uses visualisation tools, such as Power BI, to develop and distribute the insights that help CCS succeed.**Team Summary**The Data Engineering team in which this role sits is responsible for designing, building, and managing the processes by which data comes into and flows through the organisation based on Cloud and API first principles through the use of the Microsoft Azure platform.**Key Responsibilities*** Gathering business requirements and translating them into data capture and validation templates by working with senior stakeholders across the organisation* Translating data capture and validation rules into a simple series of machine-readable algorithms using a domain-specific Ruby-based language known as Framework Definition Language* Providing expert advice on Management Information (MI) and the Report Management Information service where complex issues arise.* Providing ongoing briefing and support to the Deputy Director and key governance forums to ensure new contractual arrangements align with best practice for their data requirements.**Essential Criteria (To be assessed at application):*** Highly developed skills in data management and modelling, with a proven track record of using advanced techniques in Excel.* An established ability to work with different data formats/coding languages such as JSON, Ruby, and SQL.* Can effectively translate and communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders and facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary team, with potentially difficult dynamics.
