An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring Registered Nurse.
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, registered nurse to join and help lead our teams on Ward 9 Frailty at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and Ward 28 Frailty at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, including Frailty Units and associated Frailty Units, as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse.
The successful candidate should have proven leadership skills, be driven and enthusiastic, and be dedicated to ensuring that high-quality care is delivered to all our patients.
Main duties of the job
* Function as a competent clinical practitioner within their designated clinical area, delivering direct patient care while supporting and coordinating other team members.
* Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities during their shift.
* Ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources to provide optimal care for their patient group.
* Deputise for the ward/department manager in their absence, promote evidence-based practice, and supervise staff and policies within their clinical area.
* Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

The wards specialize in assessing and treating emergency medical frail elderly patients admitted via GP or referred from A&E. They focus on older patients with multiple conditions requiring specialist support at home or in care homes. Ward 9 has 22 beds, and Ward 28 has 38 beds, each with a dedicated assessment area for older adults. Medical teams led by consultants specializing in older adult care support these wards.
The ward teams include a Ward Manager, Ward Sisters, Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Ward Clerk, and Housekeeper—all passionate about this specialty and committed to patient-centered care.
