Your new roleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join the school on a maternity cover basis. You will lead a small, well‑supported class of pupils with diverse learning needs, delivering an adapted curriculum that enables them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.Amitted team of Teaching Assistants will support you daily, helping to maintain routines, deliver interventions and provide personalised support to each pupil.
Key responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging, differentiated learning for a Year 6 SEN group
2. Adapt planning and curriculum content to meet individual needs
3. Lead and collaborate with a skilled and proactive support team
4. Create a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment
5. Use trauma‑informed and flexible behaviour regulation approaches
6. Track progress and contribute to assessments, reviews and reports
7. Work closely with families, therapists and external agencies
What you'll need to succeed
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
9. Experience within SEN settings or a strong interest in SEN practice
10. A calm, empathetic and flexible teaching style
11. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
