Main Duties & Responsibilities
16. Load and unload food and equipment as directed, ensuring high standards and no customer complaints
17. Ensure all loads are secured safely and signed for at collection points
18. Comply with all Gate Gourmet and customer security procedures
19. Follow all health, safety, and hygiene requirements, including correct manual handling techniques
20. Drive a van when required
21. Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects using the appropriate procedures
22. Take responsibility for company and customer property
23. Report all accidents and take appropriate preventative action
24. Communicate effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, at all levels
25. Maintain accurate records in the daily log and review it at the start of each shift
26. Remain flexible and adaptable within the role
27. Carry out quality checks and implement improvements where necessary
28. Assist with follow-up actions from Quality Assurance and Health & Safety reports
29. Perform any other duties as required
Education
30. GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
Work Experience
31. A valid, clean UK driving licence is essential
32. Good standard of written and spoken English
33. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
34. Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Skills & Knowledge
35. Strong reading and writing skills in English
36. Good customer service skills
37. Positive and proactive attitude
38. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
39. Strong team player
Previous experience in catering or hospitality is desirable but not essential. You must be willing to work shifts and be eager to learn. Alongside job-related training, you will develop key skills such as teamwork, time management, multitasking, communication, and attention to detail.
Additional Information
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be able to pass a Criminal Record Check (CRC). You must also provide five years of verifiable employment history. If you have spent more than six months outside the UK, you will need to provide a criminal record check from the relevant country.
