We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled manager to lead the engineering function at a busy manufacturing site in Barry for one of our key clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading the site engineering function to ensure maximum plant availability and safe working practices.
* Managing a team of 1-3 direct reports, providing coaching and professional development.
* Developing, implementing, and monitoring site-wide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
* Coordinating mechanical and electrical engineering responses to breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
* Enforcing Safe Systems of Work, including full Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and dynamic risk assessments.
* Analysing breakdown data to identify root causes and implement long-term corrective actions.
* Managing engineering budgets, critical spares stock levels, and external contractors.
What You Need
* A time-served Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
* Significant experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong fault-finding capabilities across both mechanical and electrical systems.
* Proven experience in leading or managing engineering teams.
* The ability to utilise a data-led approach for decision‑making and stock control.
* An HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.
