Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision in Preston ASAP. You will work with small groups of KS3/4 pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This full-time role is initially temporary with a view to permanent employment.

The school supports students who struggle in mainstream education by providing a caring and understanding environment. You will assist students who have experienced turbulent educational journeys and negative experiences.
Role Responsibilities
1. Commit to the role full-time and adhere to the behaviour policy.
2. Build quick relationships with pupils, with support and supervision from staff and senior leadership.
3. Contribute to a positive environment where students feel safe, happy, and supported.
4. Engage students in extra-curricular activities such as fishing and football, aimed at boosting confidence.
5. Focus on a reduced curriculum emphasizing Maths, English, and Science; a strong background in these subjects is essential.

Requirements
1. Recent experience supporting pupils with SEMH.
2. Strong academic background in Maths, English, and Science.
3. Up-to-date Safeguarding training (within last year); training can be provided if needed.
4. Up-to-date Prevent training (within last 3 years); training can be provided if needed.
5. Up-to-date behaviour management and FGM training; training can be provided if needed.
6. Right to Work in the UK.
7. Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
8. Two professional child-related references.
