Control Engineer (12 months fixed term/secondment)
Join Scottish Water as a Control Engineer (12 months fixed term/secondment), working in the Intelligent Control Centre (ICC) as a Shift Control Room Operator.
What You’ll Do
* Provide continuous management and control of assets through control systems.
* Monitor and respond to telemetry alarms, ensuring correct response to all alarms arriving into the ICC.
* Manage specific operational assets remotely, including forward planning, out‑of‑hours support and mobilisation of personnel as required.
* Follow standard operating procedures, promptly address issues, and escalating concerns to internal stakeholders as needed.
* Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental standards.
* Assist with incident logging and systems monitoring to maintain smooth operations.
* Manage scheduled maintenance resources, prioritising tasks based on urgency and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory codes.
What You’ll Need
* A can‑do attitude, able to operate multiple systems at once and prioritise health and safety.
* Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment where flexibility and responsiveness are key.
* Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to maintain productivity during different shifts.
* Experience is not essential; relevant training will be provided.

Salary
This role is Grade 4. Starting salary of £30,440, with performance‑driven progression up to £35,260.
