About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll lead by example, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and team performance. This role combines direct care responsibilities with supervisory and administrative duties to promote a safe, supportive, and efficient environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Weekly Checks:
Perform and document weekly checks to ensure facilities, equipment, and resources meet safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
Staff Supervision & Development:
Provide regular supervision sessions for support workers, fostering their professional growth and supporting team performance.
Safeguarding Investigations:
Assist with investigating safeguarding concerns, collaborating with the Registered Manager to uphold policies and ensure resident safety.
Coaching & Mentoring:
Mentor staff to build their skills, confidence, and teamwork, promoting a positive and collaborative culture.
Infection Control Audits:
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Collaborative Safeguarding Efforts:
Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure thorough and sensitive handling of safeguarding investigations.
Team Meetings:
Actively participate in monthly team meetings, sharing updates, insights, and feedback to enhance service delivery.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide flexible support to the Registered Manager, assisting with various tasks as needed to meet the evolving needs of the service.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Previous experience in a similar role within a care environment.
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and infection control standards.
Ability to conduct audits and document findings accurately.
A commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the service.
