This key role offers an opportunity to develop your planning knowledge and experience in a busy planning environment. You will deal with a range of planning applications, including industrial, retail, business, residential, green belt and heritage, reflecting the diverse composition and varied development opportunities the borough offers.

Enfield is a dynamic and progressive London Borough with excellent links to the city and central areas as well as Hertfordshire and Essex. It offers vast green open spaces, vibrant town centres, diverse character and excellent transport links, bringing significant development opportunities. We want your skills and vision to help realise their potential.
Headlining our ambitious growth agenda is the Borough’s largest residential led mixed use development at Meridian Water. The new Meridian Water railway station opened in summer 2019 and Phase 1 is well underway, with the first residents moving into the first new homes back in 2023. There is much more yet to come, including new housing and employment floor space, new public open spaces, shops and community facilities.
Our ambitions don’t end there as there are several estate regeneration schemes across the Borough that contribute to our ambitious housing targets delivering new high‑quality mixed use residential led development which meet the modern housing and employment needs of our residents.
Our new Local Plan is currently undergoing examination. The plan is ambitious in its aspirations for growth, offering exciting opportunities to help us deliver our priorities for the borough:
* More and better homes
* Strong, healthy and safe communities
* Clean and green spaces
* Thriving children and young people
* An economy that works for everyone
We would be delighted for you to help us achieve this vision across a wide range of development proposals. This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to gain exceptional experience and make a real difference to the delivery of new homes and jobs and the future lives of our residents.
We can offer opportunities for personal development including flexible working or compressed hours, home working opportunities, generous annual leave, training opportunities and a friendly working environment.
Benefits
* An excellent pension through the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
* Up to 32 days annual leave depending on grade and length of service. You will also get eight public holidays per year and an extra day off at Christmas.
* A blend of remote and office based working for most roles.
