Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract We are hiring for a Product Owner to join us initially on a 12 month fixed term contract. As a Product Owner will play a key role in maximising the value to customers. The PO will set, prioritise, and accept the work generated by the squad, to ensure that the most valuable functionality aligned to our defined key results are delivered. You will identify user needs, help customers understand business value and work with cross functional teams to manage product releases. As the Product Owner will work closely with the Product Manager and Product Working Group to agree prioritisation of activities against measured data and customer requirements to achieve key results. Working within a growing information business, the Product Management team at BSI explores, develops, and manages products, services, processes, and business models that form critical parts of our current and future value proposition to our customers. The team aims to unlock the true potential and value of Standards for our customers and society by helping to discover, define and shape the products and services that deliver on their potential - enabling the use of Standards to have a positive, measurable impact on the modern world. Key Responsibilities Turning the product vision into an actionable backlog. Owns the squad backlog and implementation. Optimise the development process, validating with the Product Operations Manager. Gathers, manages, and prioritises the product backlog. Defines features and stories. Ensures each story has the correct acceptance criteria. Ensures user stories are ready for development work to start. Advocates the customers’ needs & views in front of the development team. Has technical product knowledge. Contributes to the work of the Product Manager as they define their product strategy. Prioritises defect or bug resolution. Defines Product KPI’s, working with Product Manager and Product Analyst. To be successful in the role, you will have Previous experience working as a Product Owner, delivering feature to product. Know how to define the product roadmap. Understanding of technologies, data and customer discovery. Experience writing good use stories and acceptance criteria. Strong process management experience. Understanding & experience with Agile and SDLC methodologies. Strong leadership, persuasion, influencing & motivational skills Excellent partnering and engagement skills.
