Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the well‑being of residents, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are met.
* Coach and guide the team, providing formal and informal teaching programmes for colleagues and other care professionals.
* Carry out assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for each resident.
* Monitor work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies and legislation.
* As a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin, manage the unit alongside clinical duties, including overseeing care, administering and ordering medication, reviewing and evaluating individual care plans, and providing clinical guidance to the care team.
Qualifications
* Previous experience ensuring policies and standards are maintained to a high clinical standard.
* Confidence offering clinical guidance for care teams and crucial support in all CQC tasks.
* Ability to build strong connections with residents and their families, providing kindness, support and care.
* Effective communication and reporting skills for handover of clinical issues to team members and health care professionals.
* For night work, enhanced skills to ensure patient safety when working alone, strong critical thinking, self‑reliance and the ability to manage support staff and remain calm in emergencies.
