Job Overview:
* Work as part of a team of officers, remaining flexible to conflicting demands.
* Attend meetings as requested.
* Possess confident working knowledge of Part 7 and Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996.
* Provide sound housing advice to applicants, staying updated on statutory and case law changes, as well as local and national homelessness issues.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assist and support individuals facing homelessness, understanding their needs and circumstances.
* Conduct assessments to identify suitable housing solutions.
* Guide clients on available support services, benefits, and resources.
* Advocate with housing authorities, landlords, and agencies to secure housing options.
* Keep informed about local housing policies, regulations, and resources.
* Maintain accurate case records of client interactions and outcomes.
* Collaborate with internal and external partners for a coordinated approach.
* Build relationships with community organizations and stakeholders.
* Participate in community events promoting housing stability.
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar homelessness and housing role.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of local housing policies and social services.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and organizations.
* Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months; fast-track options available via the update service.
