Post holders will play a key role in delivering a reliable, secure, and high-performing network across the campus.
As part of the Network and Infrastructure Product Team, you’ll design, implement, maintain, optimise, and improve the University’s network estate - including wired, wireless, routing, switching and security capabilities.
The role includes hands-on engineering, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating closely with colleagues across IT to ensure high-quality service delivery.
You will also contribute to major upcoming modernisation programmes such as the campus-wide Wi-Fi refresh and the replacement of core data centre switching infrastructure, helping shape the next generation of our network services.
About You
You will have significant experience of administering and supporting a Cisco based network environment.
You will have a customer focussed approach to problem solving with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.
You will continuously improve processes, automation, resilience and performance, operating within an ITIL service model and Agile product environment.

As part of IDG, I&O is responsible for ensuring the delivery of reliable, performant, and efficient technology and services to underpin the University’s strategic outcomes for teaching, research and administration.
This includes the development and maintenance of IT systems, networks and hardware ensuring they are performant to agreed SLAs and delivering high availability.
I &O also develops and implements IT infrastructure and operations strategies for the University, aligning them with objectives and industry best practices.
They oversee the University’s IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient and secure operations, while managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to meet agreed-upon agreements.
