Our upholstery team plays a key role in turning great ideas into beautifully made products.
The Role
As a Product Developer – Upholstery, you’ll take new upholstered furniture from concept through to production.
Working closely with our in-house design team and international partners, you’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, to spec, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with design studios to turn creative concepts into technically and commercially feasible products.
* Develop prototypes, test comfort and ergonomics, and solve construction challenges.
* Source and test upholstery materials, foams, and finishes aligned with design intent and sustainability goals.
* Produce and maintain detailed specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
* Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to manage sampling and production.
* Provide technical expertise to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and scalable solutions.
* Support the development and improvement of existing upholstery ranges.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in upholstery and pattern cutting (commercial furniture experience desirable).
* Strong understanding of upholstery construction, foams, textiles, and frames.
* Experience working with external or international design partners (a plus).
* Hands-on, practical problem-solving approach.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking skills.
* CAD or technical drawing experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) – beneficial but not essential.
