History Teacher – Secondary School (KS3 & KS4)

Contract: Long-term cover until July 2027 (potential to go permanent)
Pay: £168 – £230 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join the school from September 2026. You will deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring curiosity about the past and helping students understand its impact on the present. The role involves contributing to a dynamic Humanities department that values collaboration, high standards, and inclusive teaching.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum and the school’s values
Inspire students to think critically about historical events, sources, and interpretations
Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Contribute to extracurricular activities such as history clubs, trips, and enrichment opportunities
Uphold the school’s ethos of respect, aspiration, and personal development
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in History or a related subject
Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum expectations
Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
A commitment to inspiring a love of learning and academic curiosity
