Salary: £38, 071 (£42,029 is achieved after 12 months successful performance in the role)
Working Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

The difference you will make as a Portfolio Resource Analyst
As a Portfolio Resource Analyst you will be responsible for developing and embedding effective resource management practices across the Business Transformation change portfolio, which consists of cross-functional resources from the CIO Directorate.
As part of a vibrant and high achieving Portfolio Management Office team (PMO), the post holder will support the transition from Excel based resource tracking to a modern Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool, helping to enhance visibility, optimise resource allocation and enable effective decision making across the CIO directorate. Enthusiastic, self-motivated and collaborative, the post holder will play a critical role in managing and optimising resource allocation across our change agenda, ensuring the portfolio has the right people, with the right skills allocated to the right initiatives.

Role Profile
* Collaborate with project and programme managers to capture and maintain accurate resource plans (forecasts) within the PPM tool
* Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on how to use the PPM tool for resource tracking and reporting purposes
* Maintain a central resource management database within the PPM tool, maintaining resource job families and providing visibility of capacity, availability and allocation across the portfolio
* Work closely with resource owners across the directorate to provide resource availability and recommendation on allocation
* Identify resource gaps, overallocations and conflicts, working with relevant stakeholders to resolve resource conflicts
* Analyse portfolio resource capacity to provide recommendation on realistic start dates for new demand
* Oversee the timesheet system and process, ensuring timely submissions and generating reports to support resource planning and cost tracking
* Monitor and analyse resource utilisation, providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders
* Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide real time visibility into metrics such as capacity, demand and utilisation
* Use the PPM tool to undertake regular scenario modelling to provide insight on how changes can impact resources and delivery timelines, to drive informed decisions
* Facilitate resource allocation discussions and provide data driven recommendations to support decision making
* Highlight trends, bottlenecks and opportunities for resource optimisation to the leadership team
* Act a trusted advisor, providing guidance on resource management best practice
* Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of resource tracking and reporting
* Support the development and enhancement of resource management framework, processes and tools
* Work independently and in collaboration with the PMO team to contribute to overall team performance.
