Caseworker and Family Liaison Officer

About the role:
The caseworker role is very varied and members of the service deal with a wide range of people and community organisations: parents and carers; schools, early education settings and colleges; health professionals such as therapists and paediatricians; social workers; family support workers. Some of the casework may be complex and so you
require good communication and problem-solving skills. You will also support statutory processes and may also support strategic development work.
About you:
The successful candidate will be able to work with school leaders and teachers in an advisory role to support pupils with ALN and their families. You should be passionate about inclusion, equality and diversity and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A background in working with pupils and families is essential and you must be willing to undertake further training.
What you will do:
Be part of a team supporting pupils, families and schools within a given region Assist the ALN Casework Manager in the management and control of procedures which ensures that the local authority’s statutory responsibilities on ALN are undertaken efficiently and effectively.
To be responsible for the co-ordination of ALN Panels
To act as Family Liaison Officer, providing support and guidance for families of children and young people with ALN
