Overview
We are recruiting a new role for a Systemic Stewardship Lead. This is a new role and will report to the Head of Group Pensions and will be responsible for developing and implementing the clients Pension Schemes' approach to systemic stewardship, building on its longstanding commitment to responsible investment. The role represents the Schemes' first in-house capacity dedicated to responsible investment. The role requires a combination of high level of intellect and extensive collaboration and influencing skills with a diverse range of stakeholders (including Trustees, pension scheme committees and working parties, associated employers, regulatory bodies, and providers). This role is pivotal in ensuring that responsible investment principles are embedded across all asset classes and aligned with the schemes' fiduciary duty, regulatory requirements, and long-term sustainability objectives. The role holder will provide specialist advice to the Head of Group Pensions, Chief Financial Officer, and Trustee Chairs on Responsible Investment matters.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the clients Pension Schemes' approach to systemic stewardship, building on the organisation’s commitment to responsible investment.
* Represent the Schemes’ first in-house capacity dedicated to responsible investment.
* Collaborate with Trustees, pension scheme committees and working parties, associated employers, regulatory bodies, and providers to embed responsible investment principles across all asset classes.
* Provide specialist advice on Responsible Investment matters to the Head of Group Pensions, Chief Financial Officer, and Trustee Chairs.
* Lead and deliver robust investment stewardship processes with a focus on influence and delivery within a Trustee-led environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Knowledge of ESG, systemic ownership, and responsible investment; ability to work with limited supervision and deliver programmes of work.
* Solution-focused with the ability to translate concepts into delivery and guide others.
* Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
* CFA or ESG Certificate, or similar investment qualification desirable.
* Experience in systemic stewardship, negotiations or diplomacy would be beneficial.
